Curb Appeal - coral gables style

It's so important that when drive up to your house you feel like you love it. Curb appeal is not only something that influences you and how you feel about where you live but it also impacts the value of your neighborhood.

BEFORE  /  AFTER

Things to think about:

1. Freshen up the color
Get rid of dingy colors and use a brighter fresher color such as Farrow&Ball's James White.
Give contrast between the doors and window frames. Consider black for a modern and updated look.

2. Tailored landscape
Overgrown landscaping feels messy. Try layering plants of different heights and colors. Plant short ground covers with small shrubs behind them for a tiered and layered look. Then plant tall trees to frame the entry. Tall potted plants next to your front door gives your entrance importance. Consider using plants native to your area to reduce the need for additional watering.

3. Widen front walkway to give importance to the front door.
     - A walkway up to a front door should be at least the width of the front door but try making the walkway three times the width of the front door for a more dramatic entrance.
